A Hopkinsville man wanted in connection to a March shooting in Cadiz was arrested in Hopkinsville early Monday morning by Hopkinsville police.
According to the police report, officers observed 21-year old Jaquaveion Greenwade of the city walking on the right side of the road instead of the left and stopped to speak with him. Greenwade allegedly said his name was Jaquaveion Buckner and he was 16 years old. The officer then reportedly recognized him as Greenwade, who was wanted in Trigg County.
When the officer went to put Greenwade under arrest, he reportedly fled down an active roadway and through backyards on Colonel Drive. Following a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed a small bag of marijuana.
Greenwade was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, hitchhiking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was also served with a warrant out of Trigg County for first-degree assault, which states Greenwade assaulted the victim on March 23 and forced him to drive to a road in Cadiz before shooting him two times.
