The Christian County Animal Shelter Spaygehtti Dinner and Auction is coming up on May 19 and everyone is invited to come out and support a cause for the animals.
The animal shelter has held this fundraiser for several years now and it has grown exponentially since the first one, which took place in the War Memorial Building and where they ran out of food and space. The event has since moved to the James Bruce Convention Center and Shelter Director Irene Grace says the community support has always been humbling and overwhelming.
She says tickets are $8 if purchased in advance, and they can be found at numerous veterinary clinics and at the shelter itself.
Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Grace says this year, along with the live auction, they will also have a silent auction to help the event go faster.
Grace says all money raised goes to their “Get ‘Em Done” spay and neuter program, which works to getting an animal spayed or neutered before they leave to shelter to cut down on overpopulation, which results in less unwanted animals euthanized.
