Rotary auction in final two nights

With two nights to go in the 68th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction, total money raised is slightly ahead of last year’s pace.

Items continue to sell quickly this year, with 419 sold over four nights for a total of $47,376. Overall total money raised is at $171,896—which is $57 more than after four nights last year.

Middle and high schools reported on their fundraising efforts last night, presenting a total of $10,797. Elementary schools presented Wednesday night and auction chair Kiley Killebrew says students are a big part of the auction’s success.

All money raised goes to the Rotary Scholars and student loan programs.

The auction resumes tonight at 6 on Lite Rock 98.7, online at lite987whop.com and it can be watched on Charter Spectrum Channel 12 an on the Hopkinsville Rotary Club website.

The diner at the War Memorial Building is open for lunch from 11 until 1 and they’ll be serving catfish this evening for dinner.
