The Cincinnati Reds have announced the firing of manager Bryan Price and pitching coach Mack Jenkins. Price is being replaced on an interim basis by Jim Riggleman, who had been the Reds bench coach. Riggleman managed in all or parts of 12 seasons with San Diego, the Chicago Cubs, Seattle and Washington. He led the 1998 Cubs to the NL Wild Card game.
Danny Darwin will come to Cincinnati from Double A Pensacola will become the new pitching coach. Louisville manager Pat Kelly has been named interim bench coach. A news release from the Reds indicates the team will conduct a thorough managerial search later in the year for a permanent replacement.
