The weather cooperated enough to allow CSX to complete railroad crossing maintenance early on Kelly Church Road and Metcalfe Lane and the Old Madisonville Road crossing will now be closed for similar work beginning sometime Thursday.
The crossing is about halfway between the Kelly community and the Cavanaugh Lane connector to US 41 and the closure will likely be in place until Wednesday of next week, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The work is to allow track work and rail crossing upgrades.
