April is National Donate Life month and a crowd gathered Wednesday afternoon at the Christian County Justice Center, where Mayor Carter Hendricks and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble read a proclamation for the occasion.
There are 120,000 people on a waiting list to receive an organ transplant in the United States and one of them dies every 90 minutes. Betty Lingenfelter’s life was saved 20 years ago by a liver transplant and says she’s an example of the difference one donor can make.
She reminds that there’s still a great need for donors to sign up on the registry.
