Pembroke City Commission has chosen its next police chief.
Mayor Judy Peterson says former Hopkinsville police captain and retired Elkton police officer Monte Strode was the unanimous selection of the commission.
She says Strode’s familiarity with Pembroke makes him a good fit.
Strode begins April 16th and replaces Chief Mark Reid, who is leaving for the detective’s position at the Christian County Commownealth’s Attorney Office.
