Man gets second DUI after rear-ending pickup

A local man was arrested for his second DUI following a two-vehicle wreck on West Seventh Street Saturday.

It happened just before noon near Hill Street and the collision report from Officer Samantha Rodriguez says 67-year old William Ford of Hopkinsville was slowing to stop at a red light when he was rear-ended by a car operated by 65-year old Raymond Lockhart of Hopkinsville.

Lockhart reportedly admitted to taking Ambien before driving and an arrest citation says he had slurred speech and that he performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

Lockhart was arrested for his second DUI and lodged in the Christian County Jail.

No one was injured in the incident.
