Todd County Fiscal Court designated Magistrate Jimmy Turner as its temporary county judge-executive during a special-called meeting Tuesday morning.

Turner, who represents much of south Todd, is the county’s senior magistrate with almost 20 years of service. He will serve as Todd County judge-executive until Governor Matt Bevin makes an appointment.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Johnny Camp was appointed to replace Turner on the budget committee, according to the meeting’s minutes.

Former judge-executive Daryl Greenfield resigned Friday, saying he had lost the support of fiscal court due to “their reliance upon the advice of others.” He also said the day-to-day challenges of serving as judge had taken too heavy of a toll on his health and family.
