WKU’s basketball teams are in C-USA championship games

For the first time since 2013, Western Kentucky will play for a championship. The Hilltoppers survived a 57-49 semifinal slugfest against Old Dominion Friday, advancing to the Conference USA final. Senior Justin Johnson finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, notching his 37th double-double and becoming the fifth player in WKU history with 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Freshman Tavieon Hollingsworth added 11 points

WKU will Marshall at 7:30 p.m. this evening in the championship game with pregame coverage at 7 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Meanwhile, Western Kentucky’s Lady Toppers will be in the Conference USA championship game following a 77-61 victory over North Texas. Tashia Brown had 25 points in the win. The Lady Toppers meet UAB at 4:30 this afternoon.
