Beautification Commission bringing back awards

The Hopkinsville Beautification Commission will be bringing back the beautification awards to local businesses and organizations to keep encouraging people to make the city attractive.

Connie McGahee appeared on WHOP and says that the awards will be like the ones that were awarded for eclipse preparedness last year, and will be awarded for things such as cleanliness and curb appeal.

The awards are presented at City Council meetings and it’s the commission’s hope that it will encourage individuals to improve their private residences as well.

There are many upcoming events for the Beautification Commission, including having a booth at the Christian County Master Gardeners Garden and Outdoor Expo at the James Bruce Convention Center in April, and a litter pick up day on April 21.
