Nortonville woman arrested for meth trafficking

Posted by vipology-forcht on March 1, 2018 in Local News

Police in Hopkins County arrested a Nortonville woman for methamphetamine trafficking Wednesday.

A news release says the Madisonville-Hopkins County Narcotics Unit began an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in 2016 involving Heather Baxter of Chestnut Street in Nortonville.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the 37-year old Baxter’s home Wednesday and police say they found two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and a large amount of cash.

The investigation led police to a home on Mortons Gap Road, where they arrested 40-year old Derrick Fugate on a warrant for parole violation and failure to appear in court and 42-year old Steven Denney on a warrant for criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Baxter was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail for trafficking in methamphetamine.
