The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville is gearing up for the 68th Rotary Radio Auction and at Tuesday’s meeting Auction Chair Kiley Killebrew announced the theme and the fundraising goal.
All money raised from the auction goes to benefit the Rotary Scholars program, which pays a student’s tuition at Hopkinsville Community College for two years. Killebrew says this year’s goal is $320,000 with the theme of “A Brilliant Future through Education”.
She says things have changed since the first Rotary auction, which raised $3,500, and it has grown since then to be the largest fundraiser in all of Rotary International.
The auction will take place April 16th through the 21st at the War Memorial Building. Monday through Thursday it will be from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., Friday will be 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday 6 p.m. until everything is gone.
