A traffic stop for speeding early Monday morning on Fort Campbell Boulevard led to the arrests of two people for heroin charges.
Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra stopped 27-year old David Brettschneider of Cadiz near Nelson Drive about 2:45 a.m., according to an arrest citation, which says Brettschneider could not provide a driver’s license and that there was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search of the car allegedly revealed a small baggie of heroin in the door, a marijuana grinder and a glass pipe containing residue of a substance.
Brettschneider had a partially-smoked marijuana cigarette in his pocket.
He and his passenger, 27-year old Jamiann Azud of Leominster, Massachusetts, were both arrested for possession of heroin.
Brettschneider is also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and license to be in possession.
