The Christian County Jail will be hosting a celebration Wednesday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their Substance Abuse Program.
Known as SAP, the program gives inmates struggling with addiction a chance to rid themselves of it while incarcerated. Jailer Bray Boyd says the celebration will take place in the main lobby of the jail at 11 a.m.
He says they’re always looking to have more people become clean through the program, but it has generated many success stories.
Inmates who participate must complete a rigorous six-month course, also known as the Phoenix Recovery Program, at a minimum, which allows for the individual to receive the help they need. Refreshments will be served at the celebration.
