Details released on fiery Parkway wreck

Posted by Hannah Hageman on February 26, 2018 in Local News

Details have been released about the fiery Friday collision on the Pennyrile Parkway that injured four people.

According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Michael Parker of Hopkinsville was travelling south on the Parkway near the 3 mile marker, driving at about 65 mph, when he reportedly began to hydroplane in standing water caused by heavy rain. He lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the median and went into the northbound lanes.

He collided with a vehicle driven by Robert Maxie of Clarksville before coming to a stop against a guardrail. Maxie’s vehicle caught fire.

Maxie was transported to Tennova Hospital for his injuries and his passenger, Nasiria Stiger of Clarksville, was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Parker and his passenger, Blyth Parker, were also transported to Jennie Stuart for multiple non-life threatening injuries.
