Motorcyclist injured in Russellville Road crash

A motorcyclist was injured in a wreck Tuesday afternoon on Russellville Road.

It happened about 2:40 p.m., according to the Hopkinsville Police collision report, which says 29-year old Mary Fair of Clarksville was westbound when she attempted to make a left turn into the lot of the Circle K convenience store.

She said she didn’t see an oncoming motorcycle operated by 31-year old Daniel Oliver of Hopkinsville, who was unable to avoid striking Fair’s car when it came into his path.

Oliver was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained injuries to his head and to the entire right side of his body. He was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. A helmet likely prevented more serious injury, as police found a mark on the helmet where he struck his head.
