A retiring Christian County District Court Judge and the recently departed president and CEO of the United Way of the Pennyrile were recognized at Thursday night’s annual Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County alumni awards ceremony.

District Judge Jim Adams received the Legacy of Leadership Award and Jennifer Maddux received the Leadership in Action Award, according to Kirstie Darnall of the local Chamber of Commerce.

Maddux announced her resignation last month after leading the local United Way for six and a half years. She oversaw successful fundraising campaigns that supported non-profit agencies that serve Christian, Todd, Trigg and Caldwell counties.

Judge Adams chose to retire at the end of the year after serving a total of six terms that began in 1994.

The awards were presented at a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours, hosted by MEDI.
