A two-vehicle wreck on US 79 in south Todd County sent a man to a Nashville hospital.
Guthrie Police Sgt. Dean Blumel spoke to WHOP News at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle that was attempting to pass was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. Police say he is a Clarksville resident, and is a student at Western Kentucky University. The driver was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries, but left with his grandparents.
The driver of the turning vehicle was not hurt. Names of those involved have not been released.
Pennyrile Electric had to turn power off to lines that were brought down in the crash when the pole was snapped.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash. The Guthrie Fire Department, Todd County Rescue Squad and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet also responded to the scene.
