Mediation to be scheduled in East Ninth murder case

Attorneys will attempt to reach a deal through mediation in the case of a man accused of shooting Tarone Williams to death last October in downtown Hopkinsville.

Dorien Meullion appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning and Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor said she will meet with his attorneys and a judge next month for a mediation hearing.

Meullion is charged with murder and trial is scheduled for March 22.

Hopkinsville Police say Meullion shot Williams near the East Ninth Street Marathon and Williams died in his vehicle near the railroad crossing as he attempted to drive away from the scene.
