Another Democrat has filed to seek the office of Christian County Sheriff and will have to battle it out with several others in the May primary.
Jerry Pepper has made multiple unsuccessful bids for the post in previous years and he filed Tuesday to make another attempt. Speaking with WHOP News, Pepper says he has the experience from serving in several law enforcement offices, the work ethic and training needed to be next Sheriff of Christian County.
He says he would like to see a deputy specialized for investigations, including arson, cybercrime and murder, and he would further advance the training they undergo.
Pepper says that when people go to vote, they should know that they’ll get a fair shake from him, and he pledges to enforce the laws with integrity, impartiality and honesty.
Pepper will face Julius Catlett Sr., Kahle Morris Jr., Lt. Lyn Moe and Sgt. James Dragoo in the May primary. Lt. Tyler DeArmond and Chuck Inman have filed to run as Republicans and Frank Pollard will run as an Independent. **
