HPD: Drunk man threatened to blow up donut shop

A man arrested for public intoxication Saturday afternoon is facing additional charges after he allegedly threatened to blow up Whistle Stop Donuts and to kill the arresting officer.

Hopkinsville Police were called to Whistle Stop on East Ninth Street about 3 p.m. and found 52-year old Randy Adrian Roy leaning over the counter and the arrest citation says he appeared to be asleep.

Roy was manifestly under the influence of alcohol and a search of his person allegedly revealed a half-empty bottle of vodka in his pocket.

Once in the cruiser, Roy allegedly said he’d return to Whistle Stop after his release and “blow it up” and said he would put the arresting officer “in a body bag” and throw him “in the river.”

Roy was charged with public intoxication and two counts of retaliating against a participant in a legal process.
