The Christian County Relay for Life 2018 campaign officially got underway Saturday morning with the annual kick-off pancake breakfast.
Serving sausage, pancakes, juice, coffee and more, citizens filled First Baptist Church in support of Relay for Life, which in turn aids those battling cancer in the area, as the money raised stays local. Organizer Pam Futrell says it was a great turnout.
She thanked everyone, including the businesses who donated to the cause, for their support and says they really go along with this year’s theme “We Need A Hero”. A survivor herself, Futrell says this disease can affect anyone and so everyone needs a hero.
Relay has another event coming up soon, with the Sweetheart Ball on February 10 and Futrell says tickets are still available for the event that will happen at the Silo.
The relay will take place June 8 at the Stadium of Champions. To stay up-to-date on what events are upcoming or how to donate or participate, like Christian County Relay for Life on Facebook.
