Woman allegedly stole car from grandmother

A woman accused of stealing her grandmother’s car shortly after being released from prison has been arrested.

An arrest warrant for 37-year old Angela Garcia of Hopkinsville alleges that on Saturday, she drove away with her grandmother’s 2004 Buick Rendezvous and cell phone. Garcia’s grandmother had just picked her up after being released from prison in Texas.

The victim said she was asleep and awoke to discover the vehicle and phone missing.

Garcia was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Pennyrile Apartment and is charged with two counts of felony theft.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department investigated the theft and Hopkinsville Police served the warrant.
