A Democrat has announced he will run for the First District Congressional seat held by James Comer.
Paul Walker is an associate professor of English at Murray State University, where he teaches courses in writing, critical thinking, and argumentation. He’ll challenge the Republican Comer, who Walker believes is a party-line voter even when the vote goes against the best interests of western Kentucky.
Walker says he opposes the work restrictions Kentucky is placing on some Medicaid recipients and he’d work to make health care accessible to more Kentuckians.
Walker is currently the only Democrat committed to running for the post after Sam Gaskins recently announced he’d withdraw from the race due to health concerns.
