Union County judge-exec found dead at his home

Posted by vipology-forcht on January 21, 2018 in Local News

Union County Judge-Executive Jody Jenkins was found dead at his home early Sunday morning.

Foul play is not suspected, according to a story from WEHT TV in Evansville that quotes Union County Coroner Steven Shouse. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

The 44-year old Jenkins was facing a May trial for federal corruption charges. Prosecutors claim Jenkins took $20,000 in kickbacks after purchasing heavy equipment for the county and it was later learned the equipment was stolen.  Jenkins pleaded not guilty to all counts.
