Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. Alissa Young gave an update on construction of the new Emerging Technologies Building Friday morning.
Speaking to the local media and members of the HCC Foundation, Dr. Young said a large portion of the work completed so far has been routing and rerouting utilities.
If the weather cooperates, HCC could begin offering classes in the Emerging Technology Building in the fall of next year.
A medical assisting program that’s already began operations on campus will be one of the first two programs offered in the new building, along with an Emergency Medical Services training program that could begin this fall semester.
Dr. Young says new faculty and staff will be hired, as they are needed.
The new building is located directly west of the tech center building on the North Drive side of campus.
