Longtime Christian Circuit Court Clerk Gary Haddock announced Thursday that he will not seek reelection to that post due to health concerns.
According to a news release, Haddock says it has been his honor to serve the people of Christian County as Circuit Clerk for the past 24 years, saying other than church and family, it has been the most important part of his life over the years.
Haddock says, “I filed my papers seeking re-election some time ago. However, as many people know, I have been dealing with various medical issues over the past several years that ultimately led to two very serious surgeries. My last surgery has caused me to miss a good deal of work, use a walker and go through a good deal of therapy.”
Haddock feels it’s time to give someone else the opportunity to serve the public a Circuit Court Clerk.
He intends to complete the remainder of the current term. Christian County District Court Administrative Specialist Paige Parker has filed to run for the position as a Democrat. **
