HPD determines man made up robbery story

Hopkinsville Police have determined a man who said he was robbed by two men who offered him a ride Monday morning allegedly made the story up.

Public Information Officer Paul Ray says the homeless man, identified on an arrest citation as 31-year old DaJohn Price, was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court in Scott County to face theft charges.

He reportedly called for HPD about 11 a.m. and said he was robbed by two men at gunpoint after getting into their car on East 21st Street near Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Price is now lodged in the Christian County Jail awaiting transport.
