Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 22-year-old Deuntra Taylor of Hopkinsville after he reportedly assaulted a man stole his phone on Thursday.
According to a report, officers made contact with the victim on East 6th Street and he stated that two individuals approached him and were yelling at him. One of the men, later identified as Taylor, reportedly grabbed the victim’s throat stopping him from being able to breathe before shoving him to the ground.
The two individuals reportedly stole the victim’s phone before fleeing toward a location on Main Street. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim gave officers a description of both men.
Officers located Taylor and arrested him for first-degree robbery and he reportedly told officers that the man he was with was responsible for attacking the victim. The victim was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for their injuries.
