First ever Hoptown Throwdown to take over Founders Square July 12

The first ever Hoptown Throwdown event is set to take over Founder’s Square on July 12, with a celebration of all things southern with Nashville artist Court Taylor.

According to the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department, the new addition to the downtown summer events will bring an evening full of family fun and country flair to downtown starting at 6 p.m. Attendees will hear live music from Court Taylor and her band, who bring a unique blend of bluesy, gritty, and heartfelt alternative sounds to the traditional country music scene.

Program Coordinator Rachel Wolfe says, “We are thrilled to have Court Taylor bring her unique sound to Hoptown Throwdown. Her traditional country roots, with a modern twist, fit well with the theme of our new downtown event.”

There will be plenty of food trucks on hand, along with country-themed yard games like horseshoes, cattle roping and cornhole.

Attendees are encouraged to bring out their best boots, hats, and lawnchairs to take in the full experience of Hoptown Throwdown on July 12th. Hoptown Throwdown is presented by HES EnergyNet and supported by Pennyroyal Center.
