A home was badly damaged by fire early Saturday morning in Hopkinsville in the 1200 block of South Campbell Street, displacing several people.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, crews responded to the home around 4:30 a.m. and upon arrival they discovered heavy fire coming from the back of the home. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze with 15 minutes.
The residence, which contained five apartments, sustained significant fire damage and smoke damage through three residences.
Eight adults and one child were displaced. One adult was treated at the scene for difficulty breathing but refused transportation to the hospital.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
