Medical condition likely caused single-vehicle accident

A medical episode likely caused a single-vehicle injury accident Sunday afternoon at East 21st and Walnut Street in Hopkinsville.

The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 65-year old Charles McGee of Hopkinsville was headed north on Fort Campbell Boulevard when it’s believed he passed out at the wheel and his car crossed into the southbound lane of Walnut before striking a guard rail.

The car was still in drive and McGee’s foot was on the gas when a witness put it in park.

McGee’s brother told police he had been mowing grass and left saying he didn’t feel well just prior to the accident.

EMS transported McGee to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries.
