Details released on Parkway crash

Additional details have been released on a single-vehicle crash at Pennyrile Parkway and Pembroke Road from Monday afternoon that injured two people.

It happened about 2:45 p.m. and the collision report from Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Head says 76-year old Richard Blauw of St. John, Indiana was southbound near the 8 mile-marker when he veered off the left side of the road.

His SUV traveled between the overpass bridges, went airborne and struck a barrier wall at Pembroke Road. The vehicle landed on its roof, partially in the northbound lanes of Pembroke Road.

Investigators estimate the vehicle fell approximately 60 feet.

Richard Blauw and his passenger—76-year old Joyce Blauw of St. John, Indiana—were both taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and Joyce was later flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.
