HHS selects next principal

Hopkinsville High School’s site based decision making council has chosen who will replace the departing Todd Marshall as the building’s next principal.

Dr. John Gunn has 33 years of experience in school systems in Tennessee and North Carolina, according to a news release, which says he currently serves as Associate Director of Schools in Lawrence County, Tennessee.

Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill says, “Dr. Gunn brings a knowledge base and experience as a sound decision maker to this position. I welcome him to our district and I am sure he will enjoy working with the fine HHS team.”

Dr. Gunn is quoted as saying, “I am honored and humbled to be given the honor of serving as principal at Hopkinsville High School.   HHS has a long and proud history of excellence and I look forward to working with the teachers, students, and parents to continue that tradition of excellence.”

His first day of employment is officially July 1st.
