Walker wins primary, gears up to face Comer

Republican Congressman James Comer will face Democrat Paul Walker in November, as Walker won the Democratic primary against Alonzo Pennington.

Walker defeated Pennington with 74 percent of the votes in the 35 county first congressional district and he now sets his sights on the Republican Comer in the fall. In an interview with WHOP, Walker says he thinks it will take him being visible in every county and connecting with constituents to defeat Congressman Comer.

Walker is an English professor at Murray State University. In the 4th District state Representative race, incumbent Republican Lynn Bechler defeated Fred Stubblefield by only 187 votes.  Bechler will go on to face Democrat Abigail Barnes in the general election.
