Former UK QB Maggard to join school’s football staff

The University of Kentucky announced Friday former quarterback Freddie Maggard has been hired as the Wildcats new Director of Player Devlopment. Maggard has spent the last couple of seasons as a pregame analyst on the UK Radio Network and has also contributed to Kentucky Sports Radio.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the position, the brainchild of head coach Mark Stoops, has not been formally defined, but will include character development, community engagement, helping players find internships and future employment as well as alumni relations.
