Winter Weather Advisory/Freeze Warning Saturday morning

The calendar says it’s April, but western Kentucky will likely see at least minor impacts from snow and ice Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of western Kentucky, with one to two inches of snow expected to fall between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service in Paducah says rain will begin to mix with snow as the temperature falls below freezing during the early morning hours Saturday.

Shanklin says bridges and overpasses will almost certainly freeze over across the region Saturday morning.

A brief period of freezing rain is also possible before the transition to snow.
