Traffic stop leads to marijuana trafficking arrest

A traffic stop for a seat belt violation Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a local man for marijuana trafficking.

Hopkinsville Police stopped 19-year old Deshaun Duddley of the city at West First Street and North O’Neal Avenue about 1 p.m. and an arrest citation says there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the car allegedly revealed a child’s backpack containing four large plastic baggies of marijuana and two digital scales.

Duddley was arrested for trafficking in marijuana and was charged with failing to wear a seat belt and failure to use a proper turn signal.
