Speed a factor in Todd Co. motorcycle wreck

Speed was a factor in a wreck involving a motorcycle Friday afternoon in Todd County that sent the biker to a Nashville hospital.

Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner investigated the incident that happened about 1:20 p.m. approximately three miles south of Trenton and determined 26-year old William Watson III had been headed north at a high rate of speed when he came over a hill and found a car driven by Hannah Barry of Clarksville stopped waiting to make a turn.

Watson skidded 186 feet attempting to stop before laying the motorcycle down on the pavement. The motorcycle continued sliding and struck the rear of Barry’s car.

Watson was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Sgt. Turner was assisted at the scene by Sheriff Tracy White, the Todd County Rescue Squad and Trenton Fire Department.
