The month of February is full of events scheduled to take place at the historic Alhambra Theatre, including plays, movies and field trips.
Pennyroyal Arts Council Director Margaret Prim appeared on WHOP and says things are always happening at the theatre. She says they recently had around 100 kids audition to star in Gulliver’s Travels and the show will be this Saturday at 7 p.m.
She says after that they’ll be showing movies the weekend before Valentine’s Days.
Movies are $5 to view and refreshments are $1. Prim says the kid activities, including the many field trips that happen during the school year, are a part of the Arts Council’s SMARTS program, which stands for Students Meeting the Arts. Around 15,000 students visit the theatre every year.
