Man arrested for second DUI during snowstorm

Hopkinsville Police arrested a local man for his second DUI after he was involved in a wreck Monday afternoon during a snowstorm in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot.

The collision report from Public Safety Officer Tiara Clark says 55-year old Phillip Quick of Hopkinsville attempted to back into a parking spot and struck an unoccupied stationary car owned by Vicki Whitney of Hopkinsville.

Clark called for a patrol officer when Quick showed unusual behavior and an arrest citation says Quick was unsteady on his feet and he performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He registered a blood alcohol content of .209 at the scene—well over twice the legal limit.

Quick was charged with DUI—second offense, and possession of an open alcohol container.
