Woman injured in Trigg shooting incident

State Police are investigating after a woman was injured in a shooting incident early Saturday morning on Interstate 24 in Trigg County.

Investigation determined that three people were inside a pickup truck that was traveling back to Graves County following a trip to Nashville at approximately 1:20 a.m.

Another vehicle pulled up to the pickup and occupants fired several shots into the pickup. The driver of the pickup took the Cadiz exit onto US 68 and pulled into the Marathon gas station, reportedly ramming another car in the lot.

A female passenger in the pickup was injured by the gunshots and was treated and released from Trigg County Hospital.

The only description available for the vehicle involved in the shooting is that it may have been a red passenger car. KSP does not believe the shooting was a random incident.
