Six Drug Court graduates celebrate recovery, accomplishments

Six people are celebrating their hard work and success as they graduated from the Christian County Drug Court program Wednesday afternoon.

A reception was held to honor Lindsey Thalman, Jason Pool, Jason Carneyhan, James Dillan Fleming, Megan Clements and Heather Ladd for their completion of the extensive 18 month, four phase program. The initiative has strict requirements including frequent drug testing, maintaining a job, mandatory attendance at recovery meetings and weekly appearances to drug court. Some members even have to complete additional substance abuse programs, such as attending Trilogy.

Ladd was one of those members, and she says the program brought hope back into her life and allowed her to recover.

Fleming thanked the Drug Court staff, saying he was tired of hurting those he loved.

Each graduate was allowed to speak on their experiences and were introduced by someone close to them who aided them in their recovery. Circuit Judge Andrew Self bragged on each of them, saying he is proud to see how far they have come and he commended all the staff for their dedication to those in need.

The Christian County Drug Court has been in action for nearly 19 years and is considered one of the most successful substance abuse programs in the state.
