Previous attorney will work towards resolution in Markle murder case

A resolution could been soon be reached in the case of murder suspect David Markle, as a previous attorney will likely return to handle the discussions.

Proceedings took place in Christian Circuit Court Tuesday to determine if a new attorney would need to be appointed to Markle’s case, after recent attorneys have both accepted new positions either in a different part of the state or different offices.

Director for the local Department of Public Advocacy Brandi Jones informed that court that public defender Bill Maddux is likely to return to the case and she will be appointing additional assistance.

Circuit Judge Andrew Self set a pretrial hearing for February 20, but that date is likely to change as Maddux meets with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to work out what a possible resolution might look like.

In a surprise vocalization, Markle requested that he be allowed to go on house arrest, which Judge Self denied.

Trial in this case is currently set to begin on March 11. He is charged with murder in the 2015 shooting death of Justin Fish at a Calvin Drive apartment.  Markle allegedly knocked on the door of the apartment and then shot Fish when he opened the door.
