NWS: Monday night snow/ice will be minor event

It appears that whatever wintry precipitation falls across the area Monday night and early Tuesday morning should be a very minor event.

The forecast now includes a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and snow Monday night and Tuesday morning, with no major impacts expected.

A hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service in Paducah does say any moisture left on the ground Monday night will likely freeze and some slick travel conditions cannot be ruled out.

Cold temperatures then becomes the story, with a high temperature of only 36 degrees forecast for Tuesday and another chance of light snow is in the forecast Wednesday night and Thursday morning when the low could dip into the upper teens.
