Todd Co. schools open Wednesday

Todd County opens its new school year Wednesday and Superintendent Ed Oyler says everything is in place for students to succeed.

Two buildings have new principals—David Carmichael at Todd County Middle School and Deatrick Kinney at Todd County Central High School.

Oyler says Carmichael and assistant principal Kim Davis will focus on improving the middle school’s culture.

Kinney and assistant principal Jennifer Adams hope to improve college entrance exam scores and to build on past success at the high school.

Oyler says the Todd County Career Path Institute will be busy this year and there will be full bus loads going to the new tech center in Logan County.

He’s expecting it to be a good year at every Todd County school.

Oyler says the recent announcement that all Todd County students will receive a free breakfast and lunch each day, regardless of their family’s financial situation, is good news for a lot of families who were already close to qualifying for the free lunch program.
