Hoppers split with Riverdawgs

The Hoptown Hoppers split a doubleheader with East Division leader Owensboro last night. In the opening game, the Hoppers hit three home runs in a seven run first inning in defeating the Riverdawgs 10-8. Nick Proto had a grand slam with Cord Johnson and Cody Hartness hitting solo shots. Proto had three hits with Johnson and Hartness each adding two. Trey Fields got the pitching win with Ethan Clark getting the save.

In the nightcap, Owensboro had a seven run second inning enroute to an 11-5 win. Aidan Elias had two hits and Chandler Skelly in his first at bat had a two run home run. Trey Fortner took the pitching loss.

The Hoppers play their final road game of the regular season tonight at Fulton.
