Area police agencies receive Homeland Security grants

Law enforcement agencies in Christian, Todd, Trigg, Hopkins and Caldwell counties have received Kentucky Homeland Security grants to help purchase much-needed supplies.

The Pembroke and Trenton police chiefs have received about $1,000 each to purchase tasers and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department received a grant of about $4,600 to equip its force with tasers.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office got about $3,600 for ammunition, Princeton Police got $6,400 for body armor, Madisonville Police received the largest grant in the area at about $16,000 for body armor vests and tasers and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department received $10,000 for tasers.
