Two injured in accident at McDonalds entrance

A single-vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Fort Campbell Boulevard McDonalds Thursday evening injured both occupants of the car.

It happened just after 7 p.m., according to the report from Hopkinsville Police Officer Samantha Rodriguez, which says 17-year old Janiyah Ware of Hopkinsville was northbound on East 21st Street and attempted to make a left turn into the McDonalds parking lot.

She said when she hit the gas, her car slid over and struck a large decorative boulder, causing severe damage to the car and causing both airbags to deploy.

Ware was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for leg pain and her passenger, 18-year old Daishiana Carter of Hokpinsville, was taken to emergency room for a cut to her arm and pain to her face.

Both occupants were wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
